ALL CIF TEAMS ANNOUNCED

To have one All-CIF players is a great honor. To have three 1st Team All-CIF student-athletes was a gift. It's a rare occurrence, that can be a major driving force in a championship season.

Congratulations to Conor Lawlor, WR (Sr.), Ruben Garcia, G (Sr.), and Jax Leatherwood, QB (Jr.) for being selected 1st Team All-CIF. Simply stated, that makes them the best of the best.

Conor Lawlor (a.k.a. - Shaggy)

A record breaking season, and one of San Diego County's best, Conor was dominate, game after game. There is nothing more fun than watching someone catch the "deep ball." The Leatherwood/Lawlor connection made that a happen regularly. Ending the season with these amazing stats - 78 Receptions, 1,558 receiving yards, 19.97 yards/reception, 111.29 yards/game, 84 yard reception (long), 23 TOUCHDOWNS.

Ruben Garcia (a.k.a. - Big Ru)

A three-year varsity starter, team captain and one of just three remaining players who were part of the 2019 Falcon CIF Championship Runner-Up team. Big Ruben was the anchor of an incredible offensive line that only gave up 2 (really just one) sack all season long. Strong, athletic, dedicated, tenacious and dominate, our big man paved the way to a great season. Known to Coach G as the kids who said, "did you see that pancake (block)?" 100 times a game. Congrats to Big Ru for working harder then most, on and off the field to thrive.

Jax Leatherwood (a.k.a. - J.A.X. Straight from the Womb, Little Guy)

A record breaking, unbelievable season, culminating in a two-minute drive for the ages. Jax, also a team captain and leader, put together one of the most impressive seasons anyone on our staff has every seen, certainly a best for Scripps Ranch High School. A magnificent year for a first year varsity starter throwing 52 TOUCHDOWNS (third best in county history) with on two interceptions. With interest from the PAC12, BIG10, SEC, Mountain West, and Ivy League, Jax has an incredible future in front of him, not to mention he will be back as a Falcon to complete his senior year. Stats - 243-355, 68.45% completion rate, 3,915 passing yards, 52 TOUCHDOWNS, 2 interceptions.

We received a phone call late last week with an invitation from the Los Angeles Chargers.

The Chargers would like to invite all varsity football players and coaches to their last game of the season on January 2nd, vs. the Denver Broncos at Sofi Stadium. They want to acknowledge our amazing season, specifically mentioning their love for public school sports, and your Falcons being the only public school to win in the top five divisions.

Most people are not aware that the then San Diego Chargers donated the funding needed to have freshmen football in San Diego County. If you've ever visited the weight room at Scripps Ranch High School you'll also find thousands and thousands of dollars of equipment also donated by the Chargers. And of course, if you've ever been to a Falcon Football practice, you've seen the Chargers' pants worn by every player in our program.

The #FalconFootballFamily would like to thank the Chargers for their continuing support of local football and for their invitation to Sofi Stadium with our entire team.
